1. Mahatma Gandhi’s Birth Anniversary (1869):

Gandhi, known as the Father of the Nation, is celebrated for his philosophy of non-violence (Ahimsa) and his pivotal role in India’s independence movement.

His ideals of truth, simplicity, and peaceful resistance continue to inspire millions globally.

The day is also observed as the International Day of Non-Violence by the United Nations.

2. Lal Bahadur Shastri’s Birth Anniversary (1904):

Shastri, India’s second Prime Minister, is remembered for his leadership during the Indo-Pak War of 1965.

His slogan, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”, highlights the importance of soldiers and farmers in building a strong nation.

He embodied simplicity, integrity, and dedication to the welfare of the people.
